DirecTV Question

We are in Chillicothe Ohio for a week. Called DTV to get Local channels. System all set up at the Montana and working. DTV indicated they could not provide Local channels due to the fact that our equipment from our NC home is rented. Anyone specifically ever heard of that reason from DTV??

No, put we didn't rent our system. I didn't know you could rent.

Every type receiver you get directly from DTV now is "rented". You do not own them. When you quit DTV, they send you a mail return box that you must return the receiver to them. I own 2 older models when you could own them, but they're back in Florida. You still can buy receivers, as I understand it from BestBuy and other outlets.

So...give the ID from one of your "owned" receivers when you call them.

Just call back and talk to a different person. Most of the people they have working for them are useless. They would rather give you a hard time than actually do their job. It's time these companies wise up and make some changes so that customer service people are actually interested in customer service.
