Soft spots

Hello everyone, Andrew here. We are from Washington and have decided to travel together for work. We are new to rv life and have enjoyed the transition thus far. We have a 2015, 340BH, Montana High Country. We bought it used due to affordability. Few issues which were fixed. Now we have soft spots by the entry door and about two feet in the entry. I have not seen any water damage and neither of us remember them being there when we got it about five months ago. I read about loose bolts and failing foam. Just looking to see if there is anything else I can check before we call someone. We are living full time in ours and if we have to “take it somewhere” that would be a Huge life change. We are currently in Oklahoma on a job and would like to get it fixed before the heavy rains come. Thanks for your time.
Andrew Moxley.

If there is no water damage, then the soft spot is probably just the wear because there is a wide gap between frame supports.

Again, if there is no water damage, the fix is done under the floor. Remove the underbelly and add support from under the floor. Don't rip up the floor from the top side or you'll really be opening a can of worms. You'll have to match the thickness of the original floor, you'll have to splice it at the frame supports, and that in itself will cause the new section to be weaker than what you have now. Plus, you'll now have seams in the top floor covering (vinyl or carpet, which ever you have).

Do it from underneath. You can probably do this yourself without disturbing anything inside the camper so you can continue living in it undisturbed.

All you need to do is add some 2x4's wedged up tight against the floor (on the bottom side), or if you can, weld or bolt metal supports between the existing one, making more and new cross memebers.

(That's what I'd do) ... provided there is no water damage!

Welcome to the forums and hope you have many happy travel adventures in your journeys.

We’ll we finally got to the actual flooring and not the weather covering. Massive moister damage!!! Well, that answers that quandary. Thanks for the input though! I appreciate it. Now to call the insurance company.
