DEF fluid at Walmart

My 2014 RAM 3500 uses DEF and I've been paying $14 at the auto parts store, but now I see that not only does Walmart have the same Blue DEF for $12, but they have their own brand for $8.67. It has the same certifications on it. 70% water and 30% cat pee.

Must be tough holding those cats as they pee in that little jug.

I use to buy the Walmart until a station was built nearby that sells bulk DEF for about $2.49 a gallon. Only have to top off 2 or 3 times a year.

When I'm traveling with the camper, I use truck stops with DEF at the pump, but not always an option. Can't wait until they sell it at the pump locally.

If you deal with NAPA, occasionally they have the Blue DEF on sale for $9 for the 2 1/2 Gal box. Most of the time, when I don't want the exercise walking the 1/2 mile through Walmart to the auto section, it's worth the couple bucks to just get it at one of the auto stores.

Truck is too long for normal spot plus I dont like parking too close to others....so the trek across the parking lot plus walking all the way to the rear of the store and back...then finding the 2 of 46 registers open....requires a lot of time. I liked the normal sized walmarts.

It's not important, but my Walmart has plenty of parking at the Outdoor Section entrance and it has a register for checkout. The outdoor section is right next to the auto section. So I can park close, get to the auto section with minimal steps and checkout with no delay. I also have a 2014 Ram 3500 dually. I'm amazed at where I can park. I don't hesitate to park anywhere I'd park my wife's SUV. Really tight turning radius.

Just how big is your DEF reservoir?

CORattler, sorry just saw your question. Have been off computer lately. Anyway, it is a 5 gallon tank. When I am not pulling, I go about 6,000 miles before adding DEF and I still haven't received a warning message. When towing, I certainly have to be more cautious. When I tow to Florida for the winter (900 miles one way) it will use about 2 gallon.
