slide awnings on 2014 3750

our new trailer is at the dealership for its checkover before transport to us.the mechanic doing thr inspection called and thinks we should have awnings installed over the slides to help prevent water leaks.has anyone had this type of problem?i didnt get the option as being in canada and using it for work there is a chance snow could build up and wreck them.also they are $2200 for 5 slides

I don't have any on mine. They help keep debris off the slide roofs, but make a lot of noise when the wind blows

We have them on ours as well as awning's on the windows of the slides. The reason we do is to help with the heat, probably not a problem you have. Since we winter in AZ and summer in Kansas we are in the high heat a lot and the slide toppers make a big difference and so do the window awnings. Would I do it if we weren't in that much heat, probably not, but we are and we're happy we did.

If you park under a tree canopy the tops of your slide-outs may have leaves and/or twigs (or bigger) drop on them. Closing a slide-out without removing this debris is detrimental to the health and well being of your slide-out seals.

The slide toppers prevent this debris from settling on the tops of your slide-outs and this allows you to avoid climbing on ladders to remove this crap when you're ready to depart your campsite.

If you have slide-outs, I'd recommend slide-out toppers. Don't leave home without them!

I am totally confused. What am I missing, I thought this topic was previously discussed and the OP of the other thread (unless I am dreaming it was the same poster) said they were going to have the toppers installed???

No Bingo, you have not lost your mind, but you have witnessed the second coming of a thread. See the first thread for a great discussion! In fact, I'm now going to add them when the Monty arrives based on all the good feedback. Thanks for costing me $1200!
