Towing with Coil Springs

Looking at a 2014 Dodge 2500 and it has coil springs verses leaf spring in the rear. Like to hear from some one with same/simalar truck and if they have encountered and excess sway or stability problems or is everything good. What are you towing?

Joe - We had a 2014 RAM 2500 4x4 and towed our Montana 3900FB great! We really loved the truck, but when we traded for the Big Sky 382RL, once we got everything loaded the pin weight was 1000 lbs over what the truck was rated for. I will admit that we pulled the BS from Ringgold, GA, to Sevierville, TN, then back to Little Rock, AR, with he 2500 and it did an awesome job. (Even if we were nose high!) We never noticed any "sway" with the coil springs. The only addition we made was the Timbrens.

Re VirginiaYoung's post, I'd check the pin weight before getting a 2500/250 series truck. You can get a rough idea by using 20% of the GVWR and comparing it with the cargo capacity noted on the Tire and Loading Information sticker on the driver's door frame. Just remember that cargo capacity includes everything in the truck...PW, hitch, passengers, cargo, etc.

Looks like the deal is done. Going from a GMC to Dodge. Been a GM man for the last 20 plus years. Life is about choice's and I hope this one works out. It has been a while since I had a dodge. Waiting for the dealer to install running boards and better mirrors.

Great truck. I drive a Ford but I have no brand choice. They are all great trucks.
