Open Range Fifth Wheel

A young couple in our Park purchased a Open Range fifth Wheel about a year ago. All 4 slides have leaked floors and carpets have been replaced Windows have been replaced. Dealer delivered unit to the park this AM after Warranty Repair. The young Gal was knocking at our door at 9AM. The dealer connected the Fresh Water House to the Black tank wash out and sewage backed up the toilet and down the furnace vent what a mess not to mention the odor. To complicate things the PVC sewer was not connected I had a length of hose so we could drain the tanks.
Another Gentlemen in our park also had slide leaks with his Open Range

If I recall correctly this Company was started by some X Keystone Guys

When we were park hosting recently, a new Open Range pulled in across from us. We visited with the owner of the rig, who told us that as soon as his vacation was over, he was selling or trading in his rig because of leak problems--windows, slides, skylights, etc. He said he'd already taken the trailer back to his dealer twice to have the problems addressed, but that the leaks were still there. We also talked to another Open Range owner who said all of his slides leaked badly. Coincidence? Maybe . . .

Not to defend Open Range BUT I have heard the same stories about Montana's too MANY TIMES, I love mine but I think every Mfg of 5th's has their problems and I wish Every mfg would step up their quality control like the Car mfg's have

We have some members here who went to OR and seem to be very happy with theirs. Seems like they all have problems from time to time.

Yup... I have a good friend who bought an OR and they love theirs, have used it a lot and has had no problems. I haven't talked to them about it in a while, but that's the last I heard. I think all brands have their ups and downs.

Sorry Guys when two units that are in our Park Built a Year apart with leaking slides I do not think it is a Quality Issue but a design Issue.
Wayne and Carolyn meeting two others with leaking Slides I do not think an OR is in our future
Dealer is telling this couple do not tell OR they liveing in full time or they may decline Warranty

Now that's another issue. If they're not "full time" rigs that should be right on the door of the rig.

Wow! Open Range was the other rig in my final selection process, glad I decided on the Montana. We have been in some heavy downpours and no ears, yet

Believe the new company the ex-keystone guys started up is called Prime Time, and they produce Sanibel fifthwheels among other products.

As I keep on saying. They are all built using the same vendors, same assembly methods and the same workforce. Tour any plant and see the same things. Quality is way down the list.

Yup, at these rates better to get what works for you than what's attractive to the neighbors.
