We found the onboard vac to be barely worth using. Got a stick type vac that stores upright in the closet wall.

We did the same. onboard vac pretty inconvenient and requires dragging a long hose that knocks over everything not nailed down.

I love our onboard central vac. Our motor burnt out, and we removed the motor and sent it to the company. It had a 6 year warranty, and they repaired it within a day and sent it back, reinstalled in a few minutes. If it's InterVac, they're great to work with.

Only feature we use on the Onboard Vac is what they call the Dust Pan feature. mounted in the base of the stairs to the bedroom, has a Toe Kick switch to turn it on, sweep your dirt to and it sucks it in. We don't even carry the hose for it. Use a Rechargeable Dyson.

It’s a simple job to replace it. Call or email the support line listed in your manual with the serial number of your unit and the year it was néw. As stated above, it’s probably under warranty.
You access it in your basement under your inside connection port. Might take you 1/2 hour.

Our onboard vac works great. Great suction. Picks up everything. Changing the bag is important.

On board works very well but as stated make sure you monitor the bag.
