New to Montana

Hi guys here new to Montana. Previous 5th wheel Jayco. Love my 2021 3791rd but hate the shower space and even though change the shower head it’s very uncomfortable showering. We are both average height and weight persons. But this bathroom is terrible. Yes we did see the unit before buying. As we fell in love with the other space we have in this unit. Looking to see others comments on this particular model the pros and cons they like. Thanks Jim

Congratulations on the new trailer, and make the most of it with that shower.

Congrats on your new Montana. Unfortunately, the "perfect" camper does not exist, anywhere. With every camper, there is always the 90% of items we like and the 10% we don't. On one camper it might be the leg space on both sides of the toilet, on another it might be limited space on the kitchen cabinets, on another it might be where the television is mounted, it might be a window is just in the wrong place, or the entertainment center just doesn't have enough "umph".

A lot of time is spent on brand new RV doing personal customizations. Some make aggressive changes (like adding Solar or a generator); some make very minor changes, like adding a Command Hook to the wall.

But one thing is certain, none are 100% "perfect" by anyone's standards.

Well, think about this for a moment? How much time do you actually spend in the bathroom anyway? And as far as showers, you learn how to do "Navy" showers to help conserve water consumption, and how much water actual fills in your holding tanks.

Now, compare the amount of time you spend in bed (1/3 of your life), and consider how much time you spend in the kitchen? And then consider how much time you spend in the living room? The bulk of your time is spent in that 90% "like" part of the camper. Live it, enjoy it, love it, and learn to adapt to the other 10%.

We had a Jayco before our 2021 3790RD... the space in the shower area was almost identical. And, the overall size and location of the shower space is very typical; in fact I would say the majority of 5th wheels we've looked at are similar. Compared to our Jayco everything in the shower is an upgrade. (fiberglass one piece, shower head quality and adjustability, smoothness of doors and robustness of hardware, etc)

So, I'm not following what you hate about the shower space. Perhaps you can help us understand exactly what you and your wife find wrong with it.

Thanks!
Brad

Welcome to the forum! May your new rig bring you many years of wonderful memories, except maybe the shower.

Welcome! I had a few complaints with our 3791RD but the shower wasn't one of them. I am 5'10" and 275 lbs and wife is only 130 lbs. What do you consider average? The 3791 shower was MUCH better than the one in our 2008 and 2012 Montana of other floorplans.

Hi. I’m 5’10 170 and wife 5’5 130 that i consider average weight no complaints on shower just the new 2021 3791rd has a different bar that hold the shower head and it keeps sliding down as you shower and no way to tighten the desired height
Thanks

Ah ok, now I understand; that's very different sounding than your original post where it seemed you hated everything about the bathroom layout and shower.

Now, as to your issue - I would highly recommend checking in with the warranty department at your dealer. Our dealer has been very helpful for little issues like this.

All the best with your new Montana - we are loving ours so far. I've been busy doing a lot of modifications and more to come. You can check out all of the mods under the section for "Additions and Improvements", or click here for direct link.

I had same issue with my 2021 3781RL. Took some rubbing alcohol and completely cleaned the vertical bar. Mine had very slippery almost silicone spray lube feel. After cleaning, the height will now lock into whatever I move to. Also learned to rotate the shower head holder 90 degrees to the side of vertical pole to adjust angle of shower head. Make sure to press release button before moving. I came from a 2017 Jayco Northpoint and love the Montana. Jayco was 1 and done!
