Crown Molding falling
Why doesn't Keystone engineers come up with a better solution to attaching the crown molding. Why should we have to fix this whenever they fall off. I've seen years of posts on this issue so Keystone should be aware of this chronic problem.

I had dinette side come down last fall. I used clear silicone and finish screws to reattach it. I pushed trim with nails sticking out back into the same nail holes (buttered with a little clear silicone) then added the finish screws. For the other side that had not fallen I just put finish screws in it. I did not drive the screws in straight right angle to trim, but put them in at opposing angles.

I have also used PL-200 construction adhesive to secure the trim. Just be careful not to overdo it and get too much squeeze out.

I haven't had it "fall off" yet but did a BR closet closet door slide track replacement that required the molding be removed. I have a low buck Harbor Freight 1/4" crown pneumatic stapler and used tit with low enough pressure on my Porter Cable compressor to just seat the staples at just below the surface of the molding instead of those stales being driven almost though. Still up and tight 5 years and probably 20K miles since.
Just don't grab the engraved slide trim tough. Two of ours have been reinstalled on trips with screws after coming loose due to poor stapling

Knock on wood i haven't had any issues on my 2017 Alpine with any of the trim or crown mouldings....

Many manufactures have the same issue with crown molding coming down. In our 43' DP, which we bought new in 2017, I had to reattach a large 20'+ piece the second year of ownership. I used clear silicon and a finish nailer. The next year it came down again so I used double sided 3m tape and finish screws, that held it nicely.

How long are the screws you used? I have some trim screws 1 5/8 inch

I used 1 5/8" trim screws and I put them in at 12" to 18" oc at opposing angles.

I used 2.5” screws installed at opposing angles at each location and it works great.

Agree.........my High Country had moldings on nearly every trip and roll-out pantry come apart once. Hired a carpenter to fix them.............then bought a brad nail gun and eventually traded it in for a top-end Montana.

We had the entire trim on the face of the dinette slide out fall off. I’ve since gone around and fixed all of it. Some of the issue is the freeze thaw cycles but I think the primary reason is the no fault manufacturing laws. No fault = no accountability = sketchy product quality = the customer gets screwed.

I wish I would have thought to take a picture of when the molding caught on something while putting out the slide. A section maybe 7-8' long was barely hanging on when I entered the 5er. Anyway I pushed it back up but still need to really attach it better. Question ? on the trim screws are you doing anything to cover the screw head or just living with it? I want it to look as nice as I can. Thanks

Crown molding etc etc
Rear ac still doesn’t work as advertised. Microwave burnt up. Closet clothes rod fell to the ground. Fireplace wiring burnt up. Sail switch on furnace went bad. Igniter board on both water heater and furnace went bad. Wiring caught on fire on water heater. Thermostat on water heater went out. Outside speaker doesn’t work. (Never did). Of course front mirror turned black within a week.
And FYI. I bought it brand spanking new in 2018.
Will never, ever buy keystone again.

The trim screws are dark and tend to blend in fairly well in my opinion. It was passed by my inspector, and she is TOUGH! Does it look like an expensive piece of furniture from Ethan Allen? No but it looks good to me...and only a trained eye would spot the screws and complain.

Along with all small pieces of trim falling off the big wide trim that goes all the way across the top of the slide just about fell off it was hanging down 8 inches. That was the same day the closet rod/ shelf fell down.

Ditto on securing the high trim around the living kitchen using the black 2" sheetrock screws. Predrilled holes with inset to use the flathead black screws angled into the aluminum framing. Did this instead of glue because the trim may need to come down to do LED light work above. Also had lots of closet trim come down. used silicone adhesive on all of it with blue painters tape to secure until adhesive dried. Also used the sheetrock screws for the 2" trim under the refrigerator slide so as to get the fridge out for service which I built wooden platforms to roll it out onto.

First trip with mine I had two fall down. The problem is they nail the crown molding with the nailer pointing up. What I did was using an air nailer nail all of my crown molding pointing the air nailer with a slight downward angle and staggered side to side angle. No problems since.

Curious about the aluminum framing, is it studs or a horizontal header you are screwing into?
And also interested on the fridge skid information.
