Fuel prices part duex
Many of us have had several months now to digest the fuel prices after a few trips. We just got back from just a shade under a month out down in Texas and Oklahoma. On average, a $100 dollar bill got us around 19 gallons which equates to about 190 miles pulling ... with this insane wind we're having ... 10 mpg was only on the better days. A 2200-mile trip rang up over $1100.00 just in fuel. Unlike some of you that vowed to travel unbridled mightily onward when I first posted about fuel prices a few months back ... for us, multiple long haul trips this year just isn't going to happen. Granted, I saved and scrimped for years while working so I could travel and see what I wanted in retirement ... but this last trip has just bummed us out. I'm aware that some of you are and have been paying well over $5.29/gal. I'll hope for a little more in the responses past "well what else are you planning to do except park it".
