Motion Light with In-Command

Has anyone installed the Motion Guard LED Motion Light on a Montana with In-Command. It’s activated by turning it on/off/on to activate motion sensing. I didn’t know if there was an issue with the In-Command system.

Hello Ron,

Not sure I understand your question. Are you wanting to activate the motion light from the In-Command system? In my '21 3120RL there are no additional relays available in the In-Command system to add more lights. You would have to use one of the 4 "triggers" that will output 12v but are limited to 1 amp, so you would have to add an external relay. I plan to use one of these triggers to activate some under-carriage LED strip lights.

The stock Keystone "floor plan" loaded into the IC system does not allow access to the triggers (outputs - 4) or alarms (inputs - 4). However a quick call to ASA Electronics and they were able to modify my floor plan to allow access to triggers and alarms. I also had them delete the button for the generator (not required with Super Solar) and had them re-label the HVAC pages from Front & Rear to Bedroom & Living Room with the Living Room coming up on the screen first instead of last. I had them delete the middle A/C page.

There are many empty relay positions in the IC system and ASA may be able to tell you which one you could use and have them add another line to the Lights list. That would be the cleaner solution.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards, Mike

Mike, on our current unit, I turn the physical switch on, then off, then back on. That activates the motion sensor circuit on the light. If you just turn the switch on, it is on until you turn it off. I assume that on/off/on on the In-Command panel would do the same thing.

Yes, you are correct. You could toggle on-off-on from In-Command as well once you have a relay to drive it.

Best, Mike
