ALERT!! TrailerSaver BD3 ALERT!!

Last week I replaced my Curt 20K with a Hensley BD3 TrailerSaver. This past weekend we went on a weekend camping trip traveling about 200 miles one-way.

Well several times while towing to our campgrounds I forgot that I was towing a 39' Montana!!! It was such a smooth ride! If you don't fully concentrate on what you are doing, you will just forget you are towing anything at all!!!

We towed on I-75 in Florida, through several construction zones and she was so smooth!

So, if you should ever decide to go with a Hensley BD3 TrailerSaver, just remember you have been WARNED!

Got a Q20 that I'm quite satisfied with, but always looking for better. What I like about the Q20 is that I can get the two pieces on and off my truck fairly easily (at 70 yrs of age). How much does each part of the BD3 weigh? There's nothing on their website about that and it looks fairly substantial.

Sounds like a very dangerous hitch I have a buddy that used to fall asleep in my passenger seat while we were four wheeling. I'll make sure he doesn't' get one for sure!

BD3 is up there on my list of wants. Just wish they'd offer a 50% off New Years special to make it easier to pull the trigger. Maybe in a few months.

Looks like it sits pretty high. Is there any adjustment?

Yes, you can adjust it up or down. Actually, mine came set all the way up, and it is perfect.

For what's it worth, I have a Hensley for my TT and it works as advertised. Never a care about sidewinds since I got it and I have pulled through some terrific winds, snow and rain. Peace of mind is priceless. Pricey but well worth it.

Ditto on the Hensley BD3 Trailer Saver. GREAT Hitch, in my opinion.

Happy with my curt Q24. Can not see the higher cost necessary. Guess some do, and glad they like the hitch.

I'm not knocking the hitch, but I'm grinning ear to ear thinking about setting up a payment plan to buy a fiver hitch.

Mike your Curt and my Reese are in a different category. The Trail Saver "AIR RIDE" has always been on my dream list.

I told you that you would love the hitch. Yes pricey and I paid the same price as you did last year. I don't know if they offered free shipping to you, but part of my deal was the freight was waved. I did have to go pick it up at the freight depot, and have it loaded on my truck with a fork lift, but that was not a big deal.

After running the hitch for a year now, it has been money well spent. Easier on truck and passengers, and like you, a pure joy towing with it. It still feels funny that you do not feel the Monty as it goes over the bumps, but both my wife and I are getting use to it.

The hitch is fully adjustable. It is done with air pressure. When you are unhitched, the hitch rises to the full up position because of the air in the bags. When you place the load on, the hitch will lower based on the pressure you have in the bags. I adjusted mine to the same ride height and clearance as I had with my Reese.

Shipping was free. I just had to go pick it up from a shipping company. They loaded it in the back of my pickup truck for me.

Expensive? Yes, but the improved ride comfort alone is worth it. It has to relieve stress on the tow vehicle and the Montana. It is just so smooth.

Still nothing about how much the two pieces each weigh. But besides that, for that amount of money, it should come with a robotic winch to get it off and on! I'll have to hit the lottery before buying one.
