Black tank pull handle

Good morning all, after 3 months on the road our final stop in Clinton, OK RV park in route to Lake Texoma (home) has handed me a problem I've not been up against. I pulled the black tank handle on our 2007 2955rl and it was loose and would have came out if not for a nut connected to the all thread which was larger than the hole which goes into the belly and a presume the black tank is near. The pull handle no longer opens the valve so I will have to get this fixed quick. I tried poking the all thread back inside and screwing it into what ever it came loose from without any luck. Dropping the underbelly may be my only alternative. Have any of you been there/done that. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks

I think there may be a 'sleeve' thing threaded onto the end of the rod. It has been years so memory isn't clear but also seemed to have a cotter pin holding something. Perhaps the sleeve came off and could be bouncing around on the underbelly. Maybe drop the underbelly carefully and take a peek.

Had this problem with my old 2005 2955RL. Had to loosen the underbelly until I could see where it disconnected. Then had to screw it back into place.

2005 and 2006 don't have cables.

Had mine do same thing. I have had couple issues including not getting black tank to seal closed. I did put a secondary "slide valve " that attached to sewer pipe where sewer cap usually goes. it's saved us twice! $14.00 protection!

When I changed the black-water dump seal, I cut an access opening in the belly area floor above the dump valve. There are metal bars running side-to-side supporting the plywood under the black felt. Tap the floor with a hammer to hear where they are. Now cut the plywood between the bars about 6-8" wide. This will give you plenty of room to re-attach the rod. This will also give you room to change the seal if needed in the future. Now screw a couple of 1-1/2" wide strips under the remaining flooring and set the cut piece back. I drilled a starter hole first and used my scroll saw to cut the plywood. CAUTION: The clearance between the tank, plumbing and valve are close to plywood, so hold the drill firmly to just go through the plywood only. Also, hold the scroll saw at an angle to minimize blade penetration. Good luck. I am trying to locate the progress pics.

I just replaced the black valve dump cable assembly (again!) on my unit. Two crossbars held by eight bolts, two on each end. On mine, the underbelly is in twwo sections, only had to drop the back side of the front section, 10 bolts, and had easy access.
