Folks,
I love (like may be a better word) my exhaust brake. I use tow/haul and cruise control all the time, especially on hills to control my downhill speed. We need to remember that the exhaust brake can generate almost as much braking power as the engine does at full throttle, especially in the lower gears. With the trucks we use to pull our rigs, it isn't difficult to break the rear wheels loose if we apply too much throttle. Same applies to braking, so we need to be careful we don't let the exhaust brake lock up the rear wheels. I always try to go easy, especially if it is a little wet. Good luck!
