$2.42 here in Grand Junction, CO. I'd also like to know why diesel is almost a dollar more than gasoline.

You don't make as many people unhappy with diesel prices. Companies send diesel overseas. There is plenty made here, but shipped away. Refineries here are geared for gasoline. Then add the fact that per gallon taxes are higher on diesel by double. There is a more detailed answer around, but it makes me angry to talk about it. I am sick of being subjected to "manufactured" shortage and unfair taxation.

Well it hasn't been that long since diesel was less than regular, I can't figure why it is now more than preimum and almost $1.00 more than regular.

The 'Official" explanation is.."demand" Just about everything we use is transported by a form of diesel and in great quantity. Truck, Plane, Train, ship. Of course it all comes from the same bbl of oil but we demand more gas for our cars than diesel. Goggle up a pie chart of what comes out of a bbl of oil..@ 20% gas, 10% diesel and the rest in other products such as Heating Oil, Jet fuel, lpg, etc. The solution would be to reduce the amount of other product and increase diesel thereby driving up the price of the other products..or import more oil,or produce more domestic oil. The fact that everything has dropped indicates the demand has lowered "worldwide" as we do not live on this planet alone. There are a few "Oil guys" on his forum that would have more and better information. This came off the internet. If we can believe that the Internet or the oil guys or the pie charts or the experts are not part of a conspiracy to rip us all off.

I agree with greed and the oil companies have the excuse it costs more now that the PPM of sulpher has been reduced. They have to refine it more. LOL. Just my opinion.

I like your answer Chris, so, it's all your fault!!

We now have ULSD ultra low sulphur diesel. More vehicles are coming online, not just trucks, in 2010 out with diesel engines in the USA. The oil companies are already pricing in the next onslaught of dieselusing vehicles that aren't even on the roads yet!! Greed, etc.

Oh...Question? How come we did not bail out the oil companies when gas or diesel was only a few cents per gallon. Gosh, we have come along ways haven't we?

Hi Chris. You are right on. I bought my truck in the spring of 2004 and diesel was .68 cents a liter. Today diesel in our area is selling for .90 cents a liter or $3.40 for a U.S. gallon. Talk about being ripped off her in Canada. One news item said that we were paying 30% more than what we should be.You think!

Noticed here in the Corpus Christi area, where there is lots of oil, the price of diesel yesterday was $2.59, today, it is $2.69.

Hope this is not a trend going the wrong way!

The price was $2.02 yesterday in Alvin Texas. Sure hope it keeps dropping. The price of diesel in Kemah is $2.29. Not sure why the difference, we aren't talking about tons of miles between the cities.
