WHEEL PSI RATINGS

Anyone know what the psi ratings for the Aluminum 8 lug spoke wheels used on the Montana Mountaineer is?

I blew a Marathon on I-95 near Pooler,GA and found a Camping World at the next exit. They didn't do tires, but sent me down the street to Dorcey Tire. I asked the manager/owner what he would recomend as a heavier duty tire than the Marathons, he suggested Alison 14 ply 110 psi tires St235/80R16s. Now I had someone tell me I better check the psi ratings for the wheels on my Monty! As I might be riding on BOMBS !

You probably have wheels rated at 3750 lbs and 110 psi. The rating will be cast into the inside of one of the spokes. If that is what you have, you can use any tire that fits that range. Don't worry about the weight rating, as you should have 7,000 lbs axles, so the 110 psi is the highest cold inflation pressure allowed. Do not worry about higher pressures as a result of driving, as that is already figured into the ratings of both the wheels and the tires. Be careful about tires that you may not be able to get adjusted if you are away from that tire shop, and no one else carries them.

We have the same rig as you. The wheels are stamped with the psi rating on the backside of one of the spokes. Ours are 110 psi, you can just see it if you crawl under and look.

Couldn't find a thing on the web about how Arison's have performed as an ST tire. They seem to have a good reputation as a dirt track racing tire.

The wheels are stamped with the psi rating on the backside...if you find a sticker don't go by it. I had a 2007 3400RL that had the stamp on the wheel 80 psi and a sticker that read 110 psi. The 110 psi sticker is NOT correct and when I called them on it they never gave me the truth, but did give me a very good deal on replacement wheels rated at 110 psi 3750 lbs for the 7000 lbs axles that my rig came with.

Thanks for the response, I will check in the am ! I took the advice of the tire shop owner since they did the tire work for the Camping World in Pooler,GA . HE told me they are made like Tractor Trailer tires except smaller said he has put a lot of them on 5ers.
Will post a pic of them when I figure out how ! Lol
