2013 ford f250 built in brake control

was wondering, with the built in brake control on this truck is there anyway to adjust
how fast it will engage the 5th wheel brakes? there is about a second or so lag before they engage with the truck brakes. i remember on the after market installed brake contolers that you could adjust how fast they grab as well as how much to apply.

well after some reading i am thinking that the integrated brake control might need to be replaced with an after mark unit. any suggestions on after market units?

I have a 2012 F350 with the IBC. I guess I have not noticed any delay. Same on my previous 2007 F350. Works great for me and I would not consider an aftermarket controller.

I dunno anyone with the big 3 late model trucks not liking the integrated brake controls. I'd ask your dealer about your controller or ... maybe the fiver brakes aren't adjusted up right. You may have grease on one or more of your fiver brake shoes making it seem as if it hesitates. The "never adjust" adjective about your fiver brakes can be somewhat misleading.

Being from colorado, you know "don't go down faster than you went up", but I know that feeling of something very big trying to swallow your tow vehicle...been there. Try a few downs with tow/haul on as well as setting the speed control. John
