Just wondering if anyone has used a BD3 with the Trail-Air Tri-glide pen box that we have bolted on the Montana and what was there experience in the ride improvement.

A phone call to Hensley, I am sure Aaron could answer that question.

Still nothing about how much the two pieces each weigh. But besides that, for that amount of money, it should come with a robotic winch to get it off and on! I'll have to hit the lottery before buying one.
I wish I could help you with the weight of the two pieces. My hitch stays in the bed all year round as I use the truck only for our trips with the 3725 starting in spring.

I bet if you call Aaron at Hensley, he would have that information. He was the person that I dealt with last year. All I can say about weight is...it is heavier than my Reese 15K with a bed saver. I do not know what that weight is, but my body said it was heavier.

Looks great and most likely best hitch out there. My Curt is great and I have no issues. Might be my combination of truck and hitch?

As far as weight, I can say it is much lighter than my Curt 20K. I was not able to lift the Curt by myself, but was able to lift the BD3 fully assembled straight up, and I am 63 years old.

I believe the BD3 weighs around 160#'s. You can pull out 4 clip pins and have 2 pieces each weighing around 80#'s. Easy enough to handle compared to any other 5th wheel hitches.

My Reese hitch weighs about 80 lbs. Pull two pins and the top weighs around 25 lbs and the bottom 55 lbs. Plus when it's removed there is nothing left in the bed, including no rails.

An easy way to lift any hitch out is leave it connected to the Montana pin, pull the 4 rail pins, then just lift it out using the front landing gears.

Then just pull the truck forward.

leemedic, thanks for the "backhanded recommendation". It seems I'll need to stay with my lightweight, noisy, clunky, cheap Husky/Valley 16K hitch so that I don't get lulled to sleep, forget about the Montana behind me, and drive too fast because of it. I'll stick to my bone-jarring, sleep depriving lug of a hitch I have now and keep all that money in the bank.

Actually, thanks for the recommendation. Many of the air hitch owners have the same comments. There are many in the RV Parks we stay who own the air style hitches including the BD Hensley.

From Technical Specs:

BD3 = 200 pounds
TS3 = 280 pounds
TSLB2H = 360 pounds
