Bed Lights

For some reason the bedroom reading lights in 2010 2955 RL,quit working. The ceiling lights are working. I checked the fuses. Any ideas as to where to look now?

I'd first make sure no voltage to light. If no voltage I'd look under bed. The cable to the lights move every time the bedroom slide goes in and out. At connection under bed check voltage to see which way you need to go.

If both quit working at the same time I would think it is a common problem like psomers references. Several have reported that the push switch goes bad from condensation. It would be unusual for both switches to go bad at the same time but if voltage is good it is another thing to check. Jim

I have had both sw's go out this year one right after the other on my '05 2955. Had one over the couch go out also.

Check the 12 volt fuse panel. Perhaps you just blew a fuse. Of course, why you might have is reason for investigation. On our unit, the bedroom sconce lights are on the same circuit as the front utility light. If you turn on a light but the fuse is blown, then you should see an illuminated red LED on the circuit that needs a new fuse. I would see if the front utility light is also out.

We had a fuse blow and tracked it down to a crimp in the wire leading to the bedroom through the front cap, which occurred when the service center removed and reinstalled our front cap. Had to cut the circuit wire and reroute through the hole through which the hydraulic lines go and then protect the wire from any chafing as the bedroom slide moves in and out.

Turns out it was a fuse. Thanks all. By the way Michael, I've got about half of my trailer decked out with your lights. Love em! We boondock about 98% of the time and they are great.

I'd check that front utility light to see if moisture got in there and caused the short.
