Jammed Clothes Closet
We have a 2001 Montana 28.5 with the clothes closet across the front of the bedroom (trailer nose). There are two sliding glass mirrored doors which we cannot easily slide closed because the clothes hangers get caught in the doors. When I measured the interior of the closet, it became clear that the interior demensions from the clothes rod to the door are less than the demensions of a standard clothes hanger. In other words, the hangers have to be turned at an angle to close the sliding doors. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Did you move the upper and lower sliding door tracks to provide more roon for the coat hangers or did you use a special smaller clothes hanger, such as a child's clothes hanger? Thanks,

I know exactly what your talking about, we dont put that many clothes in there so its easy to push them to an angle, we also do as you mentioned and use the smaller hangers.
maybe someone else on here has a better idea, but it has not been a major issue with ours since we just use our unit on weekends and vacation.

Since our last fifth wheel had a much smaller closet, especially in the width, our Montana's closet seems generous and we will never fill it. Of course we are not full timing and I am sure that makes a difference. So far we have not had a problem as you describe.

If my memory serves, the closet is deeper on the 2004 and 2005 models. omega with a 2001 unit, has the closet that is not as deep and there were a number of complaints about it, thus, the change in the depth. Do a search on the forum, I think there was a discussion about this before, and maybe a solution?? (Boy, it is hard getting old!  )

We dont have the width problem it is wide enough for regular hangers but we have to much stuff.

On my 2003 1/2 I have plenty of room to close the doors,I also have to admit I keep too much stuff in it.lol

Clothes were always in the way of the doors on our 3575 but there was room in the back so I moved the clothes rod back 1 1/2 inches

Have the same problem with my 3400RL. I have just pushed the hangers to one side and the problem went away. After looking I also have room to slide the bar back, but that will make for a good winter project.

 We are in the process of getting our Monty loaded up and organized. First real camping weekend. Checked and found no problem with hangers in the closet. Apparently Keystone recognized problem and worked out a solution.

We have a 2005 Mountaineer and the closet is not wide enough for the hangers. Will have to check and see if I can move the rod back.

We also have that problem and I put the hangers on an angle - I must say I do take too many clothes (shoes are the worst!) - kids hangers I think are just too small. After we get Monty back I will have to see if I can get my husband to see about moving the rod. I have finally reorganized and hopefully will make better use of space in the kitchen and above/below the tv (which I had not). Later 03's they did start changing that problem along with having a flat floor.

Omega, we have the 2003 3295RK with the same problem. It was discussed at length on this forum and Keystone made that closet deeper, in the 2003 1/2 model (we just missed getting that) as a result.
We got the swivel hangers. That helps. They still catch just before the inner door gets fully closed but it's far easier to deal with.
We just visited friends with a 3295RK. They're planning to move the hanger bar back 3/4 of an inch. They measured and said the hangers should still fit fine but no more than 3/4". I have doing the same thing on my list of things to get done in the next week or so.
Hope this helps a little. It's definitely a frustrating problem.
