Got this off another forum.
The last one through should have your attention:

I’ve seen some of those before. It looked to me like the last one was an Everest. Thanks for the reminder.
On Edit I see it was a Raptor; didn't even act concerned about it I wonder if they even noticed it at the time?

Probably not the best way to shave a few pounds?

The last one was a Raptor Toy Hauler. It lost vents and both A/C units and probably had some of its roof shaved off. It's not surprising so many of these were rental trucks. Someone rents a truck right off a lot and is not used to watching for clearance up high and KABAM!

Makes me sick to think of a fellow RVer getting stung by one of these low overpasses....

A testament to how little attention people pay when driving. Multiple signs and flashing amber lights. What more can you do?
Someone questioned the other day about the low underpass in Dalhart. Some source they had quoted it at 13'. Even though I have taken that route every summer for the last 7 years, I had to confess ignorance on it. Other 5ers and semis run that road constantly, so I never even paid any attention to it. A google street view look showed it to actually be marked 13'7". Somewhat low, but still safe for most vehicles. So I guess I am safe on that one. Probably would scare you though if you stood to the side and watched you rig go under it.

If I saw a sign saying "13'" just as I was about to go under that overpass, I think it might do more than scare me!

I wonder how many of us research whether there are low clearance issues when we plan a trip. There are several resources to do so. Once my GPS lead me into a street with a 10' 6" clearance RR bridge. I saw it in time and fortuitously, there was room to turn around. Heart rate went up.

I have set it in my mind to pay attention to the height sighs at underpasses. So far it has worked. When we are approaching one and I notice the "yellow" sign, I'll ask my wife what the height is. By the time she looks we have passed the sign, but it keeps us on our toes, and the vents intact on the roof. (I don't have AC's up there - hee hee!)

Okay, question: What do you do when you approach an over pass and see the Height Limit Sign as 12' 9"? The reason I ask I have one near me, now this is a major Truck Route from the Southern Tier area to Buffalo. Now if you look it up on one of the Low Clearance sites or the Trailer Life atlas it shows the clearance as 13' 10". So must be an old sign, but I guess if they repaved it I would be worried, like maybe wait and watch several trucks go under first.
