Warranty

A friend has a 04 CC F450 with a 6.0. He is looking at a extended warranty for the 6.0. The only trouble he has had is a turbo and 1 injector. Any ideas on what to get or not get? He won't need this until next spring.

In my opinion, the best deal is from Ford. They have an online extended warranty that is good at all Ford service providers. They have 3 levels of service so that you can choose the level you want.

I just got a flyer from the Service Manager at Ford for the diesel - like Stiles points out, there are 3 packages. I think he told me 2,100 would take mine to 200,000 miles. Can't find the flyer now, but it was through Ford.

Brad,
Worth the money! I used my extended warranty through Ford for my F-250 when I bought it new in 1995. I got it at the time of purchase.

The diesel engine is already under warranty to 100,000 miles. It covers the primary engine but not all the perpherals. But you can get an extended warranty now to extend it out to 200,000. But if you are still under the original bumper to bumper warranty, you extend that out also. $0 deductible. I also just received a notice in the mail from Ford.
I don't normally buy extended warranties on most products. But considering repair costs on these trucks, I think this one is a good investment.
I would hesitate to buy a 3rd party warranty.

Don't buy a 3rd party warranty. I did on a Jeep and nobody except where I bought it from would honor it.

I just don't know - at 15,000 miles a year, I'm not sure the number would work for me, I would run out of years before I would get the benefit of mileage, and I'm pretty sure that before this hits 100,001 miles, I'll be looking at a different rig.

I had my 06 F350 in to get new batteries earlier this year and my long time mechanic said to get an extended warranty on the Ford. He was using Fords but finally switched to SOB--I will not mention the name. So I will be getting one for my 06 that only has 42K on it so far but I have been through 1 turbo so far that was under warranty.

I have been investigating the same and have found that I can buy one in the U.S.......but.....the Canadian dealers wont honour it....so I will try to get it here........BTW>>>>>>>>> I received a phone call from a friend the other night and he was made aware of a warranty scam that is making the rounds up here at least.......the caller purports to be a Ford Dealer warranty rep and is selling the warranty....its invalid and a fraudulent, not backed by Ford nor any other company......,, Do not be duped into buying it over the phone...
