Best state(s) for "permanent residency."

Which state(s) do most full timers use for their "permanent resident address" for Uncle Sam- - and why? Thank you.

No, that thread (also mine) was specific to sales tax and licensing fees.
This question is directed to those of you who had the choice of where to establish resiedency from which to pay your income taxes. The obvious choices are the states with no state income tax but are there any other compelling reasons to establish residency in one state versus another??

The only reasons I know of are income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes on vehicle purchases, cost of insurance, whether or not there are required inspections, ease of establishing residency without having lived in the state or owning property there, and availability of adequate mail forwarding that understands rv'ers.

For some, past experience or family locations might play a role. I'm probably missing something but that's all I can think of. The dollar savings is substantial, by the way, if you come from a state that likes its taxes, like we did.
