I'm considering a 2017 F350 with the 6.7. Main reason is that I've heard that the newer trucks have an exhaust brake, ride much better (hitched and unhitched), are easier to drive, and are much quieter. I'm tired of having my teeth fillings fall out when driving unhitched.

Curious to hear your experience with the newer trucks. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Had an 2019 F250 and upgraded to a 2022 F350. Love it. Loved the F250. Love the exhaust braking. Only traded because they paid me $10K more than I paid for it, which gave me a new truck for $10K more and I wanted to upgrade my cargo capacity. My Montana pin weight was within a couple hundred pounds of my limits.

OP here. Thanks for all the good info. Enough for me to have the vehicle transferred to the closest CarMax. Should be here next week for test drive (and possible/probable) purchase.

They offer a 30 day (1,500 mile) return policy. Since new vehicle already has bed rails, plan on moving my hitch and testing new vehicle towing.

When I really got into my weights, realized that my pin weight maxes out my F250 load capacity without us, our stuff, and dog aboard. I bought Montana and F250 as a "paired set" from original owner. He said "No weight issues", and I took his word. Actually, I am under GCVW, just over load. Put 45,000 miles (including 2 cross country trips) on it, no issues hauling.

Will be under carrying capacity with F350, so I am anxiously waiting to see how good new TV will handle Montana.

BTW, Huge shortage of used 1 Ton trucks for sale. Glad I got this one on hold.

Glad you found a truck. Yeah trucks are in high demand and short on supply.

Yep, and I read recently that high trim level light duty diesel trucks set up to pull are the most sought after vehicles for thieves. If you’re buying privately, make sure everything checks out.

Update: Took delivery of the 2017 R350 a week ago, hitched up and took a ride Tuesday....What a difference!! In addition to already having 20,000 pound rails installed, it had an Air Lift Wireless One EZ pump with Firestone air bags. Perfect setup for towing. Can't wait for our first trip next month.
