All fixed for less than a month’s payment on a new truck. $750 for power steering rack, fixed AC and oil change. Oil change was $100+. See you in Goshen.

Angry EGR Delete

Just traded my 2014 GMC 3500 dually for a 2019 Ford F350. I would think twice about the delete kit. I did it on the GMC and several dealers would not even consider trading for it. Finally found a dealer in College Station TX that would trade and I did. Cost me 3K in trade in value. In TX a dealer cannot sell a truck with the emissions changed. I hate DEF but we are stuck with it.

There are know issues with these heaters, my 2015 had one changed out at 20k, my brother inlaws went out at 40k.... GM should be replacing it as it is a required piece of equipment to ensure the emissions system works and I believe there is 10 yrs on emissions parts.

Congratulations great truck!

Now on another note. I’m keeping my old 08 6.4 Ford. I’m positive the pollution controls will never give any trouble. They can be put back on any time. When one of the manufacturers put a turbo gasoline engine in one of these trucks I’ll be the first in line to get one. A 6.5 turbo could put out 600+HP and 900 TK. My little 2.7 puts out 325 HP and 400 TK so those numbers should be no trouble. I hear these little engines going 200,000 with no trouble. How many of these new diesels do that? And when they do break you better dig deep in your pocket book.

Had my first break down in my new to me, 2016, f350. My first diesel rig. I had read the string about DEF in the deisel and bad deisel just the night before. I just filled up at a truck stop and it would not start. I had flashbacks to the string about a$10k repair bill.
They had a mechanic on duty. He jumped it and got it going. He said if it dies again it's a bad alternator, if it runs it's a bad battery. We drove from Dallas to Austin. Parked the Monty and drove to the auto parts store. Shut it down and it would not start. The guy in the store tested it. Bad battery. $200. Outside temps 104 deg. High/low temps bad for batteries. Glad it was a simple fix.

I hope you have, or soon will, replaced the second battery on that truck. Looking at the Ford Truck Enthusiasts site, 3-4 years on batteries is not unususal though mine lasted 8 years. The older battery may serve to cause the new one to fail. My new Motorcrafts have an 84 month warranty which is better then most others

2014 truck manufactured in late 13. Still on original batteries. Knock on wood. Been thinking about replacing them.
