George-- I've been having the PSA tests done every 6 months since about 2 1/2 years ago when my tests read high on the count! So far no problems even with the biopsies (3 of them)I've had. My doctor told me that some men have a naturally high PSA count and I seem to be one of them. I've also read many reports sayig that the PSA counts can be misleading but in your case I'm presuming that was not the case and it was a good thing they caught it when they did. I've got a good friend that had the radioactive "seeds" planted inside him also and he's doing fine now! Checks every 6 months but all is well. You and Rosetta are in our thoughts and prayers and as stated earlier "If you made it through Nam, you'll make it through this also." Take care and we'll see you around the MOC campfires and at the pancake breakfasts in the future! OK?!!? OK!!!!!
On the edit-- I have a list that the VA is now accepting as results of that nasty Agent Orange crap! If you or anyone would like a copy of the list just let me know by PM or email. I'll be happy to send it to you or if MOC Administrators would like it posted I can do that also, just let me know!

George,
You and Rosetta have been added to our prayer list. We pray for divine healing for you and comfort and strength for Rosetta. Regular checkups are so vital and we hope and pray that everything was discovered early enough for a complete recovery. Trust in the Lord and be thankful for all of the "bonus" days that he has in store for you and Rosetta

George, we're praying for you to get well soon.

I'm sorry to hear your Vietnam service could be coming back at you, but as one too young to serve at the time, I appreciate what you and your fellow warriors did for us back there and wish there it could all stay behind you. I hope this is taken care of very soon!

God Bless You and all veterans!

George,
That bites. Unfortunately, many will face same. Glad you and your Dr. are on top of it. Hope all goes well so we can visit in May when Lynn and I hit the road for your area. AND, we're counting on you for another successful pancake breakfast in Goshen!!! Best wishes,

That can be frightening to learn. Of the several choices of treatment, I pray that the best one for you will be given. Learning how to live with cancer can be challenging, but you can do it. I referred to a book in an earlier post. I might be helpful to you and Rosetta just now. It is a book written to share hope faith and strength to those in difficulty. The post is under "Announcements".

Thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts, words of encouragement and support. It really means a lot to Rosetta and me. I cannot respond to so many individually but I want you all to know that I have great faith in him who makes all things possible. Knowing you are behind me I cannot help but have a positive attitude. With your prayers and support along with the support from a wonderful wife of almost 46 years (Dec 25, 2009),family,church members and friends I have an upbeat attitude and am optimistic that things will turn out alright. Again Thanks.

George-- Rosetta does get more than just gifts wrapped in Christmas paper on that day doesn't she!!??!! I sure hope she doesn't let you get away with that and not some SPECIAL gifts that ARE NOT under the Christmas tree. I've tried it with Mary since her birthday is on February 15th, the day after Valentines Day. The rath of Mary shall be upon me and that Southern revenge will get back at me if you know what I mean!
Seriously George, you and Rosetta take care of each other, keep the faith and it will all turn out right!

Hi George.
After meeting you in Goshen, I know you have a positive attitude, and that is what will be the biggest help to you.
I had an aggressive form of prostate cancer and had brachytherapy (radioactive seeds implanted) along with a 3-axis, 10-week, very pinpoint, site-specific radiation as the treatment. That is what apparently worked for me.
After 4 years and 4 months I am at a PSA of 0.4, which is WAY below even the normal background PSA. They say 5 years is the point at which you can "bet" it was successful (next August for me).
I can only guess that you are having some of the same thoughts that I did.
After a short period of time, I just went back to my normal optimistic, postive attitude about everything and thought only good thoughts. In my mind, I think that helped my body cope without added stress from bad thoughts.
Since you are a "jovial" sort, I can only add that continuning being that way will surely benefit you.
Best of luck to you with this.
I will see you down the road (when we get on it) if not before.
Larry
