Resale value for 2003 3575RL
Unfortunately I need to sell my 2003 3575RL Big Sky. It has been well cared for, lightly used, has spent it's life in covered storage where it was well protected except for paint fading on the front from sun, carpet has always been covered with the clear plastic you see at dealerships, 3 slides, 2 a/c units, Onan 5000 Marquis Gold generator with 52 hours, no smoking, almost exclusive use in dry climate. I don't know where to turn for a resale value. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

RVTrader has four ranging from $18,900 down to $10,000
NADA says 10K-12K

You can check nada.com. That will give an “average retail price”, meaning what a dealer price might be. Private seller would probably get less.
You can also google your year and model and see similar units for sale knowing the asking price is usually higher than the actual final sale price.
But this should give you an idea of where to start.

I would Ball Park it at $10,000 if you are lucky! You have to understand your unit is 15 Years Old

Thank you.
Thank you to all who responded. I appreciate your help. I really hate parting with the Montana but our tow vehicle with extra fuel tank and Banks mods was totalled. It was a very sad day. Thanks again.

sierramp-- I think the biggest problem you will have is that banks and credit unions will not OK loans on a 2003 unit. They feel it is to old for a loan. You will have to ask for cash if that is the case and that can be risky to say the least now a days. No checks or if it is a check, a cashiers check would be best. Good luck and hope you can sell it and buy another and join us on the road.

Good point, thank you. Might be best to do the deal right at our bank with a cashier's check.

If you do not want to deal with it yourself you might look into RV consignment dealers. Some charge no fee unless they sell it, charge 8-10% of sale price for their fee, and they deal with all the lookers and handle the sale for you.

Cash is king.
Cashiers checks can have a stop payment posted on them.
Example, you go to the bank and get a cashiers check to buy a trailer. On the way there you drop the check into the gutter and it washes away. All you have to do is go back to the bank and say stop payment and they will do it.

Very true. Not many people would be comfortable carrying that amount of cash to buy a 5th wheel but it's the safest thing to do for the seller for sure. Thanks prndl.

What method did you use to attract buyers? Did you feel safe enough meeting strangers at your rigs?

Thank you kdeiss. If someone meets me at the bank with cash I'll hand over the keys. But I'm sitting here wondering if I would be offended if a seller told me they wanted cash at the bank. Would you be offended?

NOT AT ALL! Way to many scammers out there. I'm even worried about taking cash these days. The buyer of the last trailer seemed so sketchy that I not only told him it was "cash only", but I had him meet me at the bank and had them check the cash to be sure it wasn't counterfeit! Turned out to be a really good guy, but I'm not willing to take any chances these days. In this case the buyer called me on the phone from out of state and said he would buy it sight unseen and send someone to pick it up. There were so many red flags waving I couldn't see in front of me. If a buyer is sincere he will not be offended by adhering to your request to protect yourself.

Your buyer called from out of state and said he'd buy it sight unseen? I agree, that's the biggest red flag I can imagine. The next words I can imagine would be "give me your bank account number and I'll wire the money". It's amazing that deal worked out! Thank you Theunz.
