I can’t imagine anyone not going through Yellowstone to get to West Yellowstone from Jackson.
Enjoy the ride.

Well another route is over Teton Pass to Victor Idaho then north to West Yellowstone.

If you use Teton Pass, bear in mind that it’s very steep and curvy, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol runs a speed trap on the Idaho side..

As said Teton Pass is very steep. We took that route a few years ago to the Western MOC Rally...by accident. An engine brake makes a big difference. Basically going through the park is a toll road with great view attractions.

As stated above. Through Yellowstone. I live in Victor and the pass is ok with today’s trucks. But, going to Ashton and the up to Island Park they are working on Hwy 20, long lines and the lanes are close with drop offs. The only other way to avoid this is the Falls River Road. Depending when your going to West as long as you make it to Madison Jct by 3-4 pm you’ll be ok.

We were just in Victor stayed at Teton Valley RV/ Resort.
Recommend if passing through, but pool wasn’t open under construction.
Don’t miss the Old Fashion Soda Fountain downtown.

Thank you to everyone for their suggestions of the Jackson to West Yellowstone route. We decided to go through the park and had a wonderful ride. The roads were great. The scenery was awesome. I'm glad we did it. We also noticed a lot of other RVs, big and small, making the trip.
.So thanks again. This is the best group of people.
