quality control

Keystone needs to tighten up on their quality control on the plumbing. Nothing but bad news on bad glue joints under the tub drain. Also bad joints on the galley plumbing, causing the belly pan to fill up with water unless you leave the dump valve open all the time. Seriously thinking never to buy another keystone product.

If your unit is under warranty take it in and get it fixed. Problems described are not good, but not reflective of my experiences with Montana Fifthwheels. I have been very satisfied with the overall quality and construction of each of our units.

The second issue is usually caused by a rigid drain out of the galley tank, which flexes up and down, cracking the tank at the drain spud.
A flaw in the design or assembly, so it does need attention, it is possibly fixed now, they have repaired enough of them for word to get back to the factory.
I agree that this causes a bad feeling about the trailer, but also agree that the keystone product is as good or better than the other brands. they all have issues. The thing about Keystone, is that they care, and repair the problems we all have.
Besides, you can't find a better group to hang with!
I hope you get the problems fixed to your satisfaction.

We had similar problems and when the dealer opened the basement wall he found the black tank vent pipe had been cut and was laying neatly stakes behind the wall. It had never been installed.

If you are really interested I have a full page on just the potable and waste water system.

The first 2 times we tried to used the trailer we couldn’t use it had to return to the dealer to have the plumbing system finished twice.

Then they didn’t do the job properly and didn’t file the paperwork with Keystone.

That was a $20,000 lesson on purchasing anything from a Thor company.

Phil with all do respect your issue is a Rarity and it happens sometimes with all brands, just sounds like you got one made on or Friday or Monday But I bet 99+% of folks have never had that problem maybe some other issues but not that And NOT to buy ANYTHING from a THOR Company???? you know how many brands they own Right??? What's left?? Grand Designs,DRV,Jayco??? Yeah Right they never NEVER have issues.......NOT

Hi

I isn’t that they don’t have issues it is the attitude of Keystone when it came time to repair the damage done by the improper assembly of the trailer. They refused to repair the trailer even after I provided VIN’s for three other trailers that had the same problems and Keystone did repair them the comment was "we don’t cross reference those things”. Then they refused me access to their factory service center.

Now that I have cleared up their total lack of integrity I will go on.

The trailer was repaired at a company that only did repairs and was in the past a designated Keystone repair facility and are still a Thro class A repair facility that also repairs the commercial bus that Thor builds.

The information from the people that do the work in this repair facility not the owner was that the commercial and the Thor class A had gone way down in quality and Thor was becoming more and more difficult to work with to get warranty work approved.

As a foot note the company had terminated their contract with Keystone because of their poor quality and bad attitude when it came to approving warranty repairs. The owners first response when I contacted them was “we don’t work on low end RV’s”.

Fortunately they had been recommended by someone who they knew well and did do the repairs for me.

Now maybe you understand why I won’t ever purchase from a Thor company again.

Also you may want to research Clark Industries and Houdaille Industries and have a look at the record of their growth and eventual down fall. You will note a very familiar business profile that resulted in their failure.

From what I have read, Winnebago Industries is heading down the same path. Mr. Hanson died, now it's a public held company, profit driven with not much concern for owners
