First Montana / Mountaineer 346LBQ

We ordered a new 5er today and can't wait for it to get here. I'm Ray (47) and my wife is Karen (48). We live in Jonesborough, TN. We have 4 grown children between the two of us that are 30, 23, 22, and 21. My son (21) is the only one still at home. We are on round 2 since we are raising two grandkids (8 and 6) and have had custody of them for 5 years. We have 5 grandkids total. We have been married 6 years and camping together for 5 years. We are on our 4th 5er and 3rd truck as we got the bug pretty hard. Let's just say I'm not allowed to take the camper in for service anymore as the last time a brake adjustment/wheel bearing service turned into our 3rd 5er. I camped with my parents growing up and Karen did some tent camping in her earlier years. We camp a lot at Eastman Campground in Kingsport and try to get to Tybee Island once a year. We also like to go to Hot Springs, NC and Bear Den in Spruce Pine. Our anniversary trip every year is to Hot Springs. What more could a guy ask for than a wife that wanted to camp for her anniversary. We are really pretty boring as we love just hanging out at home or camping. We got reacquainted on Match.com, but, that's a story for a campfire one night. Looking forward to meeting some new friends.

Congrats on the new Fiver! We lived in Union City TN for several years, and your state has always been one of the favorite places we have lived in. Hope it arrives ahead of schedule for you so you can go out on that first trip ASAP.

Thanks. I actually forgot to say how our dealer and Keystone went above and beyond. They already had the unit in production like we wanted except for the free standing table and chairs so they are changing that tomorrow and it comes of the line on May 8th and should be here by May 18th. We only have to wait a little over two weeks so I feel very lucky, especially since we are going to Jekyll Island June 16-23.

Welcome Ray and Karen and congrats on the new trailer. That is FAST turnaround time on the order. Ours was ordered over a month ago, and we still don't even have a delivery date yet! You'll have it just in time to enjoy the season - many happy travels to you!

Welcome to the Forum!!!

DW and I have been to Savannah, Georgia without the Monty during an across the U.S. driving tour and spent some time at Tybee Island (we wish we could live there until we realized about the hurricanes) and it was all wonderful during that time. I even spent a little time in the ocean. We also went across the river to Fort Pulaski, complete with moat and alligators! Alligators! really? Being from California, that was a strange sight to see in north Georgia, but why not. And you get to go there once a year? Nice.

Sounds like you're gonna have a full rig. The kids are at the age to enjoy the RV experience. They should be able to help you back that thing up and set it up in no time.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on your new Monty, you are going to have so much fun with your Grandkids camping. We just upgraded also so we can take ours camping. They live in N. Carolina and we live in Florida planning to stop back by there from our trip this summer and take them camping for a week. Those are memories for everyone to remember. Have fun and a safe trip. We will be at Ft McAllister state park in a couple of weeks. Tybee Island is very nice. Terry & Claudia
