Need more light in hallway!!

In our 3950BR it is VERY DARK when you enter at night...I would like to add a small light somewhere in the hallway that either always stays on, or would detect motion. Has anyone added a light in the hallway or under the steps? Is there an easy electrical source that I can splice into? Just looking for ideas...thanks!

I have had a LED light like these mounted just inside the door on the left so I can turn it on to light the area until I turn the house lights on with the InCommand panel. I also use the InCommand app on my phone to turn the lights on before going inside.

I did the same as Mikendebbie (above). I found mine at Wall Mart in the "As seen on TV" section several years ago. The nice thing about it is, it can be put on anywhere and take no wiring. It sheds enough light to dissipate the darkness, and if you don't like the location, just stick it somewhere else. (mine are battery powered). I also put one in the front bay area as there are no lights there either (inside the bay).

we use USB rechargeable (cable included) under cabinet lighting with motion detection (AMAZON). They have a self adhesive magnet so once the desired location was determined we just stick them on and when the battery runs down after about a week or so we just plug it in and recharge in a couple of hours. Our 2020 Montana has USB outlets in bedroom, living room and kitchen so there many handy locations to recharge. Work great for our application. We have one in hallway, one in dressing area between bedroom and bathroom and on on side of TV in bedroom of our 3813MS. Thought about hard wiring in similar but we had these left over in our sticks and bricks so why waste them.

I added a "puck" light high on the wall at the top of the stairs with a switch and it is on from dusk till bedtime. Power comes directly from the breaker/fuse box below it.(bottom of stairs). The light came from Bontragers in White Pigeon near Goshen, an RV clearance store. $5.00 and is the same as all the other OEM lights.

We added a puck light with a push button and powered it off the bathroom vent fan.

I can't believe you don't have that annoying motion sensor light at the steps.
Wish you had it and I didn't.

I used these small motion sensor lights and installed by the stairs. When I bought them they came in a package of 2. Maybe you can find something similar.

Mine was so annoying, I took it off the wall, cut the wires, taped up the live ends, and put the light back to cover the hole. I've been happier ever since.

Think I might just do that too. It is nice to have a light there when it's dark. But hate that it comes on every time I move, even when outside. It will sense you coming before you start up the outside steps.

Now that's funny! It cracks me up how a hallway light question can get so much traction.

That's a great idea....will be buying a couple of these! I love the fact that they are USB rechargeable so I'm not installing $4 worth of batteries every couple of weeks!

I actually put in red LED light for the dark steps that I leave on all night & a white LED on the toe kick under the bathroom vanity. Each are on their own switch. I mounted a light up above the cabinet to light up my Father's flag. The step light truly makes up & down alot safer than before.
