He installed a Splendide all in one unit. No problem at all, but he said you need to add reinforcement under the platform. They are heavy and he crushed the platform, had to take it out and reinforce the platform underneath.

Building a base is a good idea. Our base sits on top of cross supports since the factory manufactured base was insufficient. Note that this base, the perimeter of wood acts as a drip pan to a drain hole and is also spaced such to capture the washers feet to prevent movement.

We were thinking of a washer and dryer but we were too worried about water damage. Had a mishap before with flooding and ended up getting our TT recarpeted. We just use a small portable one and take it outside then hang them up on the laundry rack that goes on our ladder.
