Getting tv sound pushed to stereo

So I have been on my inaugural trip here In the new 3854BR the last two weeks. I have taken advantage of working remotely and it has been great. I have been pleased so far(knock on wood) that the trailer seems to be working great. One thing I have noticed is that unlike my old cougar you can’t seem to use the stereo with the tv sound pushed through it. This seems weird to me. I would expect this would be an obvious feature like my old cougar had. I like to use the a b and c channels to push tv audio such as my satelliite radio stations. One option may be to use the usb in on the receiver off the back of the tv usb out. Alternatively there seems to be a header out on the tv that I could plug into the stereo in on the stereo with a short cable. Has anyone come up with a fix for this ?

On our 2021 w/ Jensen tv the hdmi cable was plugged into the wrong port on the tv - should be in the hdmi port that also says ARC (audio return channel). This will send the tv sound back to the stereo.

So mine is a Westinghouse in the main tv. I don’t see an audio out running from tv down to stereo. I see the hdmi 1 is used for stereo dvd coming into the tv from the back wall I would have to take the stereo out to see what else it has for plugs on the back side. Maybe I will find manual to this this thing and see what is up but I see no audio going from tv down to Jensen stereo

Might be a good idea to post tv and stereo model numbers so someone with same/similar setup can help.

ARC hdmi ports have been around a while, but they started on higher end units. Now even Jansen has them...just kidding. Our Jansen is ok, we watch 4k at home, but going fulltime soon so we'll see how long we keep the Jansen.

My 2013 didnt have a reciever when i got it 2 yrs ago but had surround speakers. My livingroom tv is an RCA, speakers had no names. I bought a honking big Kenwood reciever, all new Bose speakers and a bluetooth reciever/transmitter unit. There was some issues running audio from the tv to the receiver. At first i had to just use a cord with a headphone jack on the tv end, until i found a different type of cord was recommended in the Kenwood manual. I cant remember the exact name right now, but it has a gold plug and its surrounded by orange insulation around that. The sound quality is so much better, and it plugs into an unlabled port on the side of the tv above the hdmi ports. I actually thought it was something for mounting screws. I also had to tweak the adio settings in the tv menu. Hope this helps! Ill look up the type of cord it is and add it here later! Music! Its the soundtrack of our lives. Have fun!
