Those MPG's are a dream for me.
We are getting upper 14's unhooked (that's over the life of the truck), but have been as high as 20 for brief periods of all highway driving.
Towing, we are getting in the 8.5-9.5ish range. That is all about how much your foot stays in the throttle. 8.5 @ 70ish, and 9.5 at low to mid 60's.
I DON'T CARE! I STILL LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!

This is probably my most disappointing thing about the new GM's. I think it helps, but it's not as noticeable as I suspected that it would be with a 15K# load on it...

They are still keeping the RPM up in the 16 to 2000 range. Any lower gearing the turbos and the engine will not be in the power band. When I went to the 13 speed I was running a 3.73 rear, I can't stay in top gear but on very flat land. So when I changed out my trans to a 9 speed with the 3.73 it worked out much better

To Charlie 3931fb. Then you would have a new looking truck that couldn't do any work

To Bejee. I have always been a Chevy man but you're absolutely right, the chevy is so ugly I actually went and looked at a Ford. Imagine.

I bought the 2020 dually duramax and love the truck. I’v only taken the 5er out 2 times with this truck and it performed better than expected. I have a question for you about where your setting the brake gain. I’m set at 2.5 now but wondering if that’s sufficient - but I don’t want to bump it up to high and risk locking up the trailer. It seems fine but I’m curious.

Make sure you are on a flat dry paved road. Go 20 mph and manually apply your trailer brakes only. Do not apply your truck brakes. Adjust the brake gain till you get the max braking force without locking them up.
I set mine every-time I hook up and also test them before getting back on the road anytime I shut the truck off and restart it. Like when stopping for fuel, food or at a rest area just to make sure everything is working.

Thank you for the guidance. I never thought about just applying the brake manually to set them.

That is the only way your going to know that you will have good strong braking at the trailer. I do that everything I hook up. Also if I stayed hooked up all night, I will test my brakes before getting on the road. Something else I do when you are in the mountains and your going to be going down grade (Steep) I stop at the brake test area and retest my brakes, check my tire's making sure the duel's have air (Thump test) and I hit all the axle's with a temp gun to see how the bearings and brake's are doing temperature wise. All in a days driving.....

The 2020 GMC/Chevy is now a big truck like the Dodge and Ford. GM’s redesign was taller and longer and maybe marginally wider with a lot of design work going into getting more air into the hood and keeping things cool. That was one of their strong points on the IKE challenge.

2020 Duramax 1 ton Help
Fellas,
I just purchased a new 2020 Silverado Duramax 3500HD the problem is I cant find the trailer charging wire in the fuse panel to activate the battery charging wire for the camper. The 7 wire round plug has the wire attached, the 30 amp fuse is in the panel, however the wire is not hooked up on the stud. Anybody have any ideas where the mystery wire might be hiding?
Thanks for the help

That's a odd one. In my GMC it was there from the get go. I think. All I know is with batteries showing say 12.2, when I hook up I'm at 13.5 at least. Must be working
