I had one with an SOB that I negotiated with the dealer down from $4200 to $2500. The margin on these things give the dealer a lot of wiggle room. I had few issues with that unit and didn't get my premiums back in service, but that was not the point. I had peace of mind with it. Obviously on average the insurance co. comes out ahead on these things otherwise they would sell it.
Having said that, I have a "Forever plan" with my current Monty. I got it mainly for the residential refer as I felt they were untested in rv's and there is concern with the bouncing around in travel if the units will hold up. My plan covers all appliances and I've replaced the microwave already with it. I may never get a full return on my premiums, and that's ok with me but if disaster strikes and there is a huge bill involved it's nice to have that peace of mind.
