Solar

Can anyone tell me what equipment if any is included with the prewire solar. I know there is a connector on the roof to add panels. I did find the inverter it is a 1000 watt Magnum Dimension. I contacted Customer service at Keystone and they said they are not allowed to give me a diagram of the wiring or the information on the prewire system. Said I have to go to a dealer to add to the solar.
Does anyone have a idea of the components or wiring?

Lynn,

You should only have an inverter if you have a residential reefer. That inverter is pretty much the minimum to run the reefer. To boondock you will need a decent size battery bank (4 or 6 6v golf cart batteries wired for 12v), a larger inverter 2000 or 3000 watt depending on how much you want to run and then size your solar based on your expected use. You will still need a generator for high use days, cloudy days or when you want to run air conditioning.

The pre-existing wiring will handle around 400 watts if you use low voltage panels or around 600 watts with high voltage panels. Other than wiring and roof connector there is not more to the pre-wire. If you don't have some expertise with wiring and solar, recommend you have someone install it.

Big thanks. I don't want to make mistakes that are more costly than doing it right in the first place. Appreciate your input.
