Just Never Know

When we arrived back at our regular summer site last week (central Illinois) a neighboring class A was plugged into my pedestal. The way the sites are arranged must have confused him.

I knocked on his door and explained the problem to him and he came right out and switched his cord to the correct pedestal. Over the course of the next couple days we chatted on and off. He was here visiting his mother, traveling by himself, and heading to Arizona.

It was obvious he was pretty new to the whole RV lifestyle. Anyhow, a few days ago the CG told him he would have to leave because someone had his spot for the Memorial Day time frame. He packed up and left, but what no one realized was that he returned to the main entrance parking lot and started staying there overnight.

Yesterday morning they discovered him deceased in his coach. He was 44 years old, had been a military pilot and then a commercial pilot.
Apparently there were no signs of trauma to the body. I am sure the medical examiner will determine what actually caused his death. I hope it wasn't from running his generator.

So sad, you just never know.

Oh my, such a sad story! Another life that ended far too early but makes us appreciate each day a little more.

Reminds me. My bother and I were turkey hunting several years ago. It was about 10 o'clock were were headed back to camp on a longing trail and heard something. As we got closer we could tell it was a woman. She and her husband had set up a blind, called in a gobbler. He raised his shotgun and fell over dead. We did CPR not for him but for her. At that time there was a dozen camps along the creek. I'm the only one left. The fun is all gone. SAD!!!!

Unreal. I guess that's how it ends for some people. Shame, but maybe painless. It's tough on family and friends, though.
