Ram Turn Signal Issue
I thought I would share a recent issue that came up. A member of our camping group was following us and said our left turn signal and brake light were out. Tail light worked. Pulled the bulb in the Montana, no issue. Wiring at both ends looked good. No loose connections. As an after thought, while getting some PM done on the truck, I asked if they could check the trailer plug. Service tech asked "left signal"? I asked how he knew? It turns out there is a tiny 20 amp fuse under the hood in the control module. So, if you have a Ram and the left turn signal on the trailer stops working, don't assume it's the trailer. Check the fuse in the truck.

Ron, Thanks for the heads up, what was the label on the fuse?

If it's like mine, there are a huge amount of the little buggers up there and while there is a diagram in the owners manual it's hard for an old gezzer to determine which is which.

It is one of the mini 20 amp auto fuses. The tech replaced it for me, and as mentioned, it is an eye chart on the back. Didn't see the label.

Its a good idea to always keep extra fuses for the RV and Tow vehicle in your tool bag just for this reason.

Changing out those dino lights to led units will solve that issue as well as give you more brightness back there. But know what you mean about the eyes...I think they are just making things harder to read these days. John

Good heads up. I bought a 16' Ram. Made our first trip with new truck. Running lights on the trailer were not working. Everything else was good. Camping World checked my trailer lights and all was good. Yep, the running light fuse was missing in a brand new truck. Now I carry extra's.

The service tech said to turn the truck off before plugging in the pigtail.

My 2009 Ram blew the fuse twice on the auxiliary charge circuit. If trailer was plugged into truck and I plugged in shore line it would cause fuse to blow

Good to know. That would save a lot of time searching for the fix to the issue.
Thanks Ron!
