More photos of the Missouri at Omaha
This is unreal! Check out this website! Rumor has it they are opening up the gates even more at Gavinspoint Dam which is allowing all of this flooding to happen! Check out our casinos in Council Bluffs in the final photos, just across the Missouri from Omaha! Well what used to be the River anyway!

More pictures taken 6/27/11, if this works. If not send me an email and I'll try and sdne them that way to you!

I don't think it worked so email me if you want to see more of the Omaha area and some of the businesses here!

We originally had an ambitious trip, to include North and South Dakota. We changed our minds a few weeks ago when all the flooding started. The Missouri River feeds into the Mississippi River at Kansas City. I wonder how that is fairing with the merging.
It's strange that we see a lot of "overseas" disasters, but not much is being said about this flooding.
Thanks.

We just left that mess a few days ago, but are now high and dry in the Beautiful Black Hills of SD. Although we did have a thunder storm come through last night.

Unreal. I just went by our old S&B on a local lake here today and the whole part of the lake our old house was on is bone dry. Very sad, but on the other hand made me glad we got it sold when there was still water there. After the recent rains they could finally begin to put boats in at the Federal Reservoir as the level rose to the boat ramps again. This weather is really weird way too much rain in one place, not near enough in another.

No problems Joe! The Corp of Engineers won't have the dam open like that again if they know what is good for them. They did this because they didn't open the dam gates early enough and had to relieve the pressure real fast and for a long period of time(like three months plus) It's a long story and when you get here and we have a chance to get together we'll explain it all and how bad the flooding really was.
Don't worry about having to put pontoons on your Monte there will be no need for them!
Get ahold of us when you get into town so we can meet.
UPDATE:
Joe If you come up I-29 from Kansas City watch along the roadside and at the buildings you are passing out in the fields and you will see the water marks on the buildings and the debri in the ditches that is a reminder of the 2011 flood. I'll try and email you with the directions we took when we headed to the Southwest last January! It should be your best bet on coming up here!

Well Dave if the bridges aren't out and the Interstate is not over run with wrecked cars from Memorial Day weekend you should be able to make it down here. Come on down! We'll park you in the same spot you were in last time!
