Black water Tornado power sprayer

Today I was finally getting to tear into the unit to re[lace the factory black water tank sprayer. First, you have to remove the brass fitting that the hose attaches to. Then remove the three screws holding it to the tank. Now you pry the adhesive from the tanl that bonds it to the tank and slowly remove it. Its tight to remove. Now the fun part! The dam Tornado it bigger diameter then the factory, and its longer. SO IT WILL NOT FIT UNLESS YOU DRILL A HOLE THROUGH THE I-BEAM AND RUN THE NEW HOSE AND ENLARGE THE BLACK WATER TANK HOLE AND 4 NEW SREW LOCATIONS. The crud I found in the sprayer was clogging the ports, so I cleaned and flushed the line and replaced the factory sprayer. Now I have to return the new sprayer. What a day. A lot of crud was adheared to the inside of the brass fitting, so I scrapped and cleaned it. What was the install designer thinking

** A lot of crud was adheared to the inside of the brass fitting,**

When you say crud are you meaning from being in the black tank or adhesive from the install? These guys at the factory dont think much further ahead than lunch time or 5' o'clock, depending on which is closer. I could see them using too much glue and it plugging up the jets.

Aren't these little surprises in life grande!!!!!

Kinda like when I installed my airbags, they included a bolt that needs an 1 3/4 socket. Who the heck ( well some of you gear heads maybee) has a 1 3/4 socket laying around!

we had the same problem with the clogged sprayer...we were able to unclog the sprayer with a right angle drill and 3/32 bit, drilled at different angles and one in the center...works like a charm now...no more clogs...you can really hear it spraying the inside and the water volume is high...about 6-7 gallons a minute...nice quick flush!...I have a water meter to monitor flow...just to be on the safe side...don't want to flood the inside of our Monty...

Stan,
The interesting part of overfilling, is if all the connections on the plumbing are not leaking, you don't have to worry about flooding the inside of the rig. However there is a very strong possibility of a cascading, waterfall-type flow of undesirables that will originate on the top of the rig at the vent pipe opening. There have been some previous postings as to the unforeseen results when this happens. I strictly adhere to a five minute limit when filling the black tank with the flusher spray. So far, so good, the important thing is never, ever, ever allow yourself to get distracted.

This is my opinion, my black tanked cracked last winter while in Florida. I was flushing and let the tank get very full when I heard the loud crack. It is my belief that allowing the tank to get very full the tank stretched and stressed the tank at the output connection. So, I am now leery of letting the tank become really full. Am I overly concerned?

I do not think so, but I am sure someone will come along with reasons why you are overly concerned. In my opinion, care should be taken when dealing with any one of the many plastic parts in our Montanas...they are plastic, after all, not steel!

His thought was this - "How cheap can we get this done?"

Bw2,

You are smart to be concerned. In the 2006 models without the drop down frame, they were only supported by the top lips. We had ours reinforced with additional strapping because we like to boon dock.

On our 2009 with the drop down frame, we added an additional support when we changed out our valves and added the Barker Auto Drains to the gray and black tanks. Keystone had two supports and we added one more.
