New tire concept from Michelin

Not sure if something like this could ever break into the trailer tire market or not. It would be tougher for tvs as we have more of a tendency to raise and lower air press adjust our ride relative to our load.

That is sure different. I wonder if the tires could develop flat spots when parked on a very hot day.

The "tweel" sounds like a good idea. Interestingly, the article reminded us that the radial took 30 years to replace the bias tire as standard. It sounded like they were going to start with smaller, lighter vehicles and that would take 10 years. I would like to see breakthrough technology applied much sooner.

At least heat buildup would not be a problem.

I saw these 2 or 3 years ago, they don't seem to be catching on.

No problem raising and lowering air pressure -- No more leaky valve stems

I read one a few months ago that used balls, kinda like tennis balls in the tire instead of tubes. The article said they worked great on off road vehicles.

From what you all are saying about Mission tires, they seem to try to remold themselves in that image on the road. At least the part where you can see through them.

Try to imagine how many people (per mile) will be trying to stop you to tell you your tires are disintregating!?!?
