Does anyone know who has 2008 Chevrolet 3500HD DRW

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find 2008's Chevy 3500HD DRW's Crew Cab, in the new body-style and not the Classic. If you know of a dealer in your area, can you let me know the name of them? I am having trouble finding the 2008's. A dealer of mine said GM didn't operate during July because of "Labor Talks" is this true?Thank you very much.

For years the auto plants have had nation wide plant shut downs, usually in July, usually including July 4th weekend, it was a 2 week shut down, you had to take your vacation time. Not sure if they did that this year tho.

Labor talks have just begun, national level, was on the news during the last 7 to 10 days.

Carol is right. Dick works for GM and builds the HD trucks. They were off for the first two weeks in July. Forced vacation time. This is the time that they rework the lines for the new model year. The 2008s are coming off the line now and have been since the third week in July.

Labor talks have started again too. All plants are up and running so at this point the talks should have no impact on production.

The last time I was on the Chevy and GM sites building our "dream" truck the only option was for 2007s. Of course you can't order a 2007 now. I would think you could get one nearly as fast by ordering it straight from the dealer.

Dick's plant makes the regular cab and extended cab versions. He says that very few duallys are coming off the line right now. We don't know where the crew cabs are manufactured.

I have searched for 2008's and have not found them online yet.

Just so you know, Dick drives the new trucks everyday as he loads the rail cars. He says they are awesome and go like crazy. He says he can tell very little difference in a 2007 non classic and a the new 2008. Maybe you should look for a 2007 non classic. That is what they were banging out right until the last day of June.

Hope this helps.

Patty

We just left a Chev. dealership today. There are no 2008 3500's in stock, they are being built or a few are in transit. A couple of weeks and you should see a change.

traveltunes, We had a hard time finding our 2007 Chevy Classic 3500. I had to find one that was loaded with all options except sliding rear window. I just went to the GM web site and started using different zip codes and located one in Ala. and our dealership went and picked it up. They should be getting to the major dealerships any time now. Good Luck.... GBY..

I doubt you will find any "Classic" Silverados any more. They were a short-lived interim early '07 model to fill the gap between the 2006 models and the new body style 2007s and later. Apart from the body style, they also lack the new emission controls that were introduced in Jan '07. Depending on your point of view, this may, or may not, be a good thing.

Not sure if 2008 or 2007.5 but Murdock Chevrolet, Manhattan KS has (had?) a white 3500 DRW DA, LTZ package (leather, everything but the sunroof as I recall) on their lot.

785-776-1950 or www.murdockmanhattan.com (per the phonebook).I don't see an 800 number for them.

(I'm not affiliated with them in any way - just happened to look at it this past Friday).

Go to gmbuypower.com, and at the bottom of the page you can do a search for the area you want. I know some of the dealers in Greeneville, SC have some.

Just this past weekend we were out in our Monty and I saw my first 2007 non-classic diesel Duramax\Allison, it was 2500 HD. The driver said that he had ordered in November and it arrived in May. I have yet to see a dually new body style 2007 diesel or gas.

Hi there Dobles Chevy in Manchester NH has 3 new 08's 3500s crew cab DRW in stock running from 50,000 to 55,000 I saw them yesterday the prices have jumped for the new body style. and for the weight caps. and price the Ford F450 is looking pretty good. I think GM has to get on the band wagon. I am now looking at a HDT used and out fitted for less than a new PU

Traveltunes, The New body style started in mid Jan 2007. As i was told, GM did Retooling for the new style in Dec 2006 /Jan 2007, with the first builds starting end of Jan 2007. I could not find any 2007 Classics in anything but work truck models, and as of May 1, 2007 Dealer searches could not find any 2007 dually's on any lots. I ordered First week of May 2007 and it rolled off the delivery truck July 12th. As the Salesman said, we've had 8 calls about doing a Dealer trade as soon as that unit hit the Dealer locater system. There in short supply. I would suggest if you want one, order it.

Try Huebner Chevrolet in Carrollton, Ohio, 1-800-483-2637, and ask for Ned McNutt. We ordered our truck from him last fall when other dealers told us that no trucks were being built due to the model changeover. Give him the specs of what you want to pull and he will tell you what truck, and options, is right for your application.
