I have a PROBLEM

Before I went camping 2 weeks ago I checked my fender screws. Found a couple loose so when I returned I decided to put some thread sealer on the screws. I have read on here that some use Loctite so I assumed it is the same. Yesterday went to building where the Big Sky lives and one of the small pieces was on ground. The thread sealer has eaten the screw holes out in my fenders to the point they are trash. Now.... WHO has the best price on these for a 3625RL? I know I should have read on the tube BUT I didn't.... any help will be appreciated but please no flaming I already feel ..well you know.. Thanks

When i blew a tire the only place, other than a dealer, I found was Trekwood.com They were real easy to work with, but not real cheap. If you go to the hardware store you'll find something called speed nuts that go on the inside of the screw and locks it in place. That's what we use and after 9 years of full timing and over 80,000 miles have not had a single loose screw.

I think the skirts are pretty universal -- not unique to any particular model #. Just measure and make sure that the replacements are the same size as what you have on it.

RecPro seems have decent pricing on them:

If your unit is still under warranty replacement should be on Keystone's dime. I actually lost one fender and found the other with most screws either missing or loose on one of our first outings.. Brought my 3791 into CW and they processed a warranty claim which Keystone covered. Replaced the one and repaired the other. Just sayin...

I was able to order one thru Amazon. The supplier was Elk Mountain. Amazon happened to be cheaper than from Elk Mountain direct.

If is split by a slide, you'll have to get it cut. I opted to have an auto body shop cut rather than risking ruining it myself.

I reinforced the back side by pre drilling aluminum 1/8" bar. Haven't taken it on a long trip yet to test it, but expect it to be better than the OEM standard of anchoring a flopping piece of plastic to a thin piece of material that wouldn't hold it.

Instead of replacing the fender, can you just add larger washers?

i had that screw issue.

washer under head

spacer between the fairing and sheet metal so the screw will not pull thru while screwing down

caulk on the screw threads

no problems for 1.5 years

here is a place for fenders

Loc-tite kills some plastics. Makes it very weak and brittle.

I learned it the hard way too, with a handheld GPS holder for my motorcycle. It literally fell apart in my hands ten minutes after I applied it, like it was made out of sugar.

Thanks everyone.. Update. As for washers, yeah I tried that but the holes were eat out too large. What I did was, I had some fiberglass body filler from a project I have been working. I sanded and cleaned the back side of fenders around holes, taped the front side, and used the fiberglass to fill the hole and cracked area. Haven't put them back on yet but am hopeful. Thanks for the help.
