Trailer Hitch

My buddy bought a 2013 Montana the same time we did. Now his Montana had a trailer hitch already installed on the back of his Montana. It came from the factory that way.

Mine did not. If I had a hitch installed on mine, does that void the frame warrantee?

The hitch on your friend's Montana is for mounting a bike rack. It's extremely light weight and only has a working load weight of 200 lbs. If you want to add a hitch to yours for the same purpose, I'm sure Keystone wouldn't have any problems, however if you plan on towing something, they probably will have a problem should you have any frame issues.

What Tom said would probably be the way it plays out. Like I've mentioned several times here before ... I've owned 3 new Montana's since 2000 and on each one have installed a hitch within the first week of ownership capable of towing a small boat or jetski. No frame issues ... no double trips to the lake one for fiver one for boat. That being said ... use your head here, don't try and tow your restored WWII Sherman tank behind your fiver on your way to your old outfit's reunion.

Actually I was wanting to tow a small light weight trailer that has my Kayak on it. The Kayak weighs 85 lbs.

Here's the hitch I fabbed up ... it pulls about #2000 of water toys. I also welded a Reese bicycle rack (modified a bit) on the tongue itself.

If you have a frame problem and want to try and get help from Keystone they will want to know if you have a hitch, what you tow and want a picture of it. You know how I know.

I have a 2020 Montana 3121rl and want to put my 85lb Old Town Topwater PDL 85lb on a 200lb trailer. My Montana hitch is rated at 300lb. Prefer a trailer to basket and ladder mount. What did you do?
