Time to call it quits

Due to life beyond our control we are going to have to retire from full time RVing. I didn't think it would happen this soon. We had hoped to see and do more but time and circumstance just isn't going to allow it to happen. We started this adventure in Dec. of 2019. I thought we'd last 5 or more years before calling it quits. But fate, the DW's doctor and the good Lord knows best.

What a wonderful lifestyle the DW and I experienced. Everyone should have the chance to live all over the county and be a part of so many places in this great country. I'll also miss spending time on the forum, reading and learning from so many of you. We were looking forward to the rally. However, now that isn't going to happen.

I want to thank each of you who responded to my posts over the last 3-4 years. What a wealth of knowledge this group has. If it wasn't for this group I'd never attempted so many repairs and upgrades on the rig. It was a wonderful learning and living experience.

May God bless each and everyone of you and keep you safe. Thanks.

BTW is you know anyone interested purchasing a 3931FB and F350 send them my way. Take care.

John

I'm sorry to see you had to come to this conclusion. And I hope all things work out well for you in your future. Life does have a way at throwing curve balls at us. So, let's all hope and pray things will turn around for you, and that turn will come quickly. God Bless you, your wife, and your family.

Best of luck to you on the next phase of your life. We were not full timers, but life circumstances led us to sell ours last year after 14 years of traveling in it. Loved every minute of it.

I listed ours on Facebook Marketplace on a Wednesday. Got 1st inquiry next day with a commitment to view it on Friday. Lady saw it and said she wanted it but her husband couldn’t see it until Saturday. He committed to buy on Saturday. Met her at her bank on Tuesday and got a bank check for full amount. 20+ more inquiries before I could mark it sold on Marketplace. Quick, easy, and safe with the bank issued check. With Marketplace you can limit the ad radius to make it easy for potential buyers to come see it.

And obviously I haven’t stopped hanging around the forum.

Used F350s are drawing a premium right now. You will not have a problem selling that either. Of course you will pay a premium to buy something else.

Bill. Did you sell your rig with all the extras (TPMS, GPS, hoses, connectors, jack pads, etc.) or sell it separate? I have everything anyone needs to camp and so much extra stuff... all anyone needs to do is hook up and drive off to the nearest campground.

I included everything in the sale except the TPMS. I had not reinstalled the sensors after the winter season and the buyer was buying it to live in. (they didn't even have a truck. I delivered it to a local RV park for them). Sold the TPMS later here on the MOC.

I think the good Lord is watching out for us. I just got a call from a person who is driving to Texas from Washington on business and wants to see it tomorrow. He says he would be a cash buyer. Any suggestions to look out for? I've heard of so many scams, I want to know what to look out for. The title is held by the bank as we still owe some on it.

John, we are sorry that you cannot continue as you wish. But as each door closes, another opens. It’s amazing as we progress through life how our outlook changes. We always think we’re in control of things, but the good Lord sometimes has other ideas. We wish nothing but the best for the future for you and your DW. Know that the prayers of the MOC family are with you.

I would have him go with you to your bank. He can pay the bank the owed amount and you the balance. He may try to scam you individually. But not you and the bank while in person with you at your bank unless he is really dumb.

Well, best of luck with all your future endeavors. No reason to not remain an inspiration for folks on the forum asking questions. I doubt that you'll have any issues selling your rig. We had a couple fly in from south of the cape, rent a car in midtown Houston, drive the 60 miles with cashiers check in hand to buy our full rig sight unseen. Was on the market ~2 weeks. We let all the add-ons go with it, including Dish Network 1000.2 and 2 Wally receivers and a pile of RV only tools. Was ready to go full time.
