Refrigerator drain line FYI
Since I searched and couldn’t find a thread that really solved the issue for my particular model I thought I would post a quick, easy solution and keep others from having to use epoxy to fix a broken part like I’m doing right now. Lol.
It is a common issue that the year models around 2007 had a cheap, crappy piece of hard plastic similar to wire wrap attached as the drain line for the fridge. It comes down and is directed out of the exterior fridge vent. It breaks off like a dry twig the first time you try to move it.
On my model it is not advisable to try to pull it out from the inside of the fridge as there are two tabs on the exterior side of the fridge housing that prevent movement of the drain cup into the fridge space. You have to go to the exterior side access panel and remove the smal panel that is in the topside of the space. Then, reaching the back of the tube connected to the drain cupbis relatively easy if you have long enough arms.
Carefully clip the zip tie type apparatus holding on the tube to your spout. Slip on proper sized vinyl or PVC tubing any of which will last for the rest of your camper’s life and go on about your camping. Use a small clamp if you like for good measure. The pressure type that are applied with pliers would be best as using a screwdriver in this right space is not advisable. Also, you will need to reattach the line to the inside of the exterior vent cover and buy a plug or zip tie on some screen to keep dirt Daubers out of the line and you’re done.
PM me if you have questions. Save your epoxy.
