Ice on/ ice off ?

I have a samsung fridge. Went thru the owners manual looking for (maybe) an obvious answer - but it is not there.

When the thing is turned on to make ice - I assume the little LED indicator turns on, and if the LED indicator is not lit - then the thing is off/ not making ice...correct? The owners manual does not mention the LED indicator at all.

It's on when the light is not lit. I have a 3791 and there is a water cut off valve under the island sink and one to the right of the fridge in the back of the pantry. These ice maker are very temperamental. make sure you have the water on and the light is not lit on the top of the fridge. and give it plenty of time. once they start working it will produce lots of ice.

It is the opposite of the way it SHOULD be. The light is on when the ice maker is off!!! That's backwards to SOP for just about anyone or any device!!! Grrrrrrr even......

Yep....worked on mine for a day then realized that it was opposite. ugh
FYI
If you turn your converter on when you pull your camper the fridge will operate while towing.

The only reason many campers have a converter is to run the fridge. It is true that you can run fridge while towing but we have found that the residential fridge will stay cold for a couple days without power. Particularly if you have some frozen water jugs in it.

If you look at the light for the Ice Maker it's shaped like a cup with ice cubes in it that turn on and off.

And if you look REEALLLL close at the ice cubes, they are tiny words that say "Ice Off" :-O

Drove me crazy figuring that out!

It also helps to manually cycle it a couple times once you turn it on. Hold the button until you hear it.
