Electrical system issues

Suddenly after having warranty work done at the dealer, our batteries were dead. We had to hook up to truck to raise jacks. Then when we arrived at the campground and unhooked, the in command panel was dead. Now it only works while plugged into shore power. Then yesterday the water heater stopped working in either gas/electric modes. It too seems to be an electrical issue also. I have no idea where to even begin to try and fix these issues.

Most likely they let your batteries go totally dead and now they won't hold and adequate charge. Start by testing your batteries or taking them in to a parts store like NAPA that will test them for free and can sell you new ones if you need them.

I should have mentioned, the batteries are fully charged on the truck. But they don’t charge on shore power.

Is your battery disconnect on? That would keep the converter from charging the batteries.

There have been previous posts about customers getting their rigs back after having work done on them, and finding the battery disconnect switch in the off position. You also might verify that the breaker to the converter is also switched on and not tripped, along with other breakers that may have been turned off.

My 2015 had similar issue, some how all the 25 amp fuses in the fuse panel (DC) were blown out. I changed out all four and my issues were solved. Hope this helps

I would use a multi meter and measure DC voltage at the battery. With shore power plugged in should be around 13.4 to 13.8 volts

You can use your in command panel to read DC voltage if you don’t have a meter.

The fact that water heater quit while plugged into shore power indicates a possible issue with converter output. Even if battery disconnect was off the DC items inside RV would work via output provided by the converter.

Thank you to everyone. The battery disconnect was the culprit. We were looking at the battery disconnect for the inverter. We found the actual one in the water closet and turned it off. Now our water heater is working. And the battery is charging!
