1 Month.....
Reflections of "making the leap" after our first month. The realization of "wow"! We really did this! This is our new life now! Have to admit it is really different from the days of charging off for a few months of vacation and escaping the Arizona heat. We are still in decompression mode, puttering on the rig, making more modifications and storage upgrades. Recently added an ARB unit in the lower storage compartment. Love it! Our dogs are still a bit wound up, but they love going for rides in the truck and the occasional dog park. We had planned on heading east to Florida, but with the unsettled weather, why would we leave Arizona right now? The thoughts of where to go, we can go anywhere are almost overwhelming....can't wait to really hit the road, but we are going to find someplace to park for a few more weeks. Get our taxes finished, make sure we have everything tied up in a nice red bow as far a documents, insurance, powers of attorney, et all. We have Internet, cell phones, satellite dish, mail forwarding services, etc. Doing extra maintenance, tightening loose screws, checking connections and offloading stuff we really don't need....whew! It has been a busy few months since we put our home in the market. Thanks MOC for the inspiration to change our lifestyle!

While you are waiting to hit the road, join all the fraternal organizations you can--VFW--Moose-
Elks--Eagles--American Legion. Many have RV sites and almost all will let you stay overnight in the lot. These are also a great place get a cold beer, good food and talk to the locals about what to see and do in their town.
I hope you enjoy your travels as much as we have.

Glad you are starting to settle in and enjoy the "Fulltimers Club"! Your membership card should be in the mail soon! We have been doing it for over 3 years now and love it. Maybe we can share a campfire along the road sometime! Enjoy & Relax!

It does take some getting used too, but all in all we're going on our 5th year of full timing and would never go back. Hope you find this lifestyle as fun and exciting as we do!

Nice to hear about your experiences and thoughts on full timming, We are planning on making the jump in September and are really in the fear and anxiety mode of the decision. Please write about any advice and feelings that you have and experience it will likely help! My parents went full time in the mid 1990's and stayed with it for 10 years. They stopped when dad began having trouble driving the Class A. To this day they still say the 10 years of full timing was the best 10 years of their life. Still nervous about the change.
Good Luck and Safe Travels...

We feel exactly the same way. Planned for 3 years, finally sold the house the end of Oct. And here we are in Florida. Took about 2 months to realize we were retired. Established Florida domicile. Now just relaxing and seeing what happens next.

Super. Bought a lake house after six years of fulltiming, and not sure we should have. Miss the total freedom.
