City water.

Hey folks, Fresh water tank fills up. Hooking a hose (that does provide water) to the city water line and it sounded like it hit the camper and stopped. Wouldn't come to the faucets. Checked as many valves as I could come up with. Anyone had this problem before?

Did you fill up the fresh water tank with the hose hooked to city connection on FW?

James has a good question there. IF you were filling your fresh water tank you need to turn the fill switch to the opposite position to get water to the pipes and faucets. The sales rep or the tech that gave you your introductory tour through the unit and briefed you on how things work should have shown you and explained this to you. Unfortunately a lot of the dealers, sales reps or tech do not explain the correct Pre Delivery Inspection. (PDI)

I believe Charlie (the OP) has a 2006 3400RL. Ain't no current type convenience center. in that beast You fill the water tank through the hose fitting at the rear of the RV not by turning the "Fill" switch.

I seem to remember a check valve in the city water input fitting. They have a tendency to stick?

P.S. Charlie - add your year and model to your signature and it will eliminate some of the incorrect responses you receive.

I'll put that on my signature for sure, that's a good call, and also correct, no convenience center in the beast. I'll look at the check valve and see whats happening

Thank you very much! Much Appreciated

Was 2007 the first year of the convenience center? Reason I ask is that my 2007 3075RL does have it and the NORMAL/FILL switch. And also has the tank fill port at the rear of the trailer.

Our 2011 has both also. Glad it does. I would not like the pressure fill only situation.

On one of our old rigs I did have to replace the city water inlet because the check valve failed. It was letting water out when the pump ran, but it could also fail in the other direction. Also, most water inlets have a washer with a screen in it and you won't get water if the screen is completely blocked.

My 2006 3400RL has the full convenience center where you can fill the water tank, bypass the water heater, winterize, black tank flush etc.....

I'll be darned. My 2005 didn't have it and I thought it came with the dropped frame models.

My 2006, albeit a different model, doesn't have it either. I remember the convenience coming out but not the year. I too thought it came into being with the dropped frame.

My 2008 3400RL had a convenience center with everything EXCEPT fresh water fill. The fresh water fill was at the very rear of the ODS and was gravity feed only. My 2012 3585SA had fresh water fill using valve in convenience center AND also a separate gravity fill compartment on the ODS and either one could be used. Go figure?

My 2008 3400rl fills fresh water tank by turning the valve at the panel in the basement on driver side.

Convenience Centre

We have a 2007 3400RL (love it) and it has a fresh water tank fill switch in the convenience centre. Seems funny that the 2006 and 2008 model years do NOT have it but my 2007 does.

And my 2010 2955RL had the Power Fill in the Convenience Centre and the gravity fill at the Street Side Rear Corner.

2006 3400rl

My 2006 3400RL has the convenience panel drivers side basement and has the tank fill option as well as the option at the rear of the RV to just put a hose in or gravity fill. IF you have the valve switched in the convenience panel you might not have enough or any pressure inside. I have never tried to fill the tank and the coffee pot at the same time.
